Rick Hutchinson
Pastor / Teacher
Rick grew up 30 miles north of Springville in Rainbow City and met his wife, Peggy, during college at the Auburn University. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Birmingham Theological Seminary and has served multiple churches across Alabama and Texas. Rick started on staff at Christ Community in 2012, and was then ordained and installed as Pastor / Teacher in 2013. Rick and Peggy have three girls and five boys:
Kate, Claire, Henry, Jack, Sims, Miles, Luke, and Charlotte.
Matt Bryson
Youth Leader / Chief Musician
Matt grew up in the Birmingham area and as a teenager, felt a strong call to ministry through the witness of godly men and the ministry of a faithful church family. Matt’s call to ministry continued as he earned a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Bible College in Theology and Youth Ministry. He joined our staff as the Chief Musician in 2017. Under the oversight of our session, Matt began teaching and ministering to our middle and high-school students through CCYG. Matt married his wife, Madie, shortly after joining our staff in 2017 and they are now expecting their first son.
April Spano
Children’s Director / Ministry Assistant
April grew up in the Birmingham area and has lived in Springville since 2014. Her service as a nanny and in restaurant management gives her the unique skills that make her a beloved addition to the Christ Community team. The children of Springville love April because she works hard to ensure they are loved. She is married to her husband, Tony, and they are the proud parents of their son, Sam.
